How Time Flies When You Are Having Fun
This has been another busy week. Russ is on his days schedule so Taya and I have been home. It has been nice to work on a few of those little projects that I seem to put off. I got caught up on the laundry (until everyone came home and went to bed), started and finished Max's quilt, cleaned a little and just really enjoyed being home with Taya and home when Rylie came home from school.
On Wednesday Rylie and Russ had her first "Daddy Daughter Date". Their theme was "take me out to the ballgame". They played kickball and had the BEST hamburgers ever. It sounded like they really did have a "BALL"! Thanks Leslie and Jetta for always making achievement day activities so much fun.
The boys played Moapa this week in football. Thursday the games were in Logandale, Nevada. We left a little early and were able to stop in St. George and get a bite to eat. I called Chris and Chanda and they came over to Bajio, where we were eating and we got to see Cooper and Courtlin. What a beautiful baby! And I am not at all bias. When we pulled into the parking lot of the school the temperature registered on the van at 97 degrees. We are not used to that heat at this time of year. The boys played really well and both teams won. I totally enjoyed seeing Russ and Andrea (Henrie)Owens and their darling girls there. It was so fun to visit and get caught up on their family. Andrea is still as cute as always. It is so fun to talk about the good old days of volleyball and high school. I wouldn't want to go back and I wouldn't trade watching my boys in their sports for anything. I just hope that they get to have the opportunity to have the fun and success that Andrea and I had.
Friday Moapa played here and it was a crazy, exciting game. It felt like it was a closer game than the score showed. This team is showing a lot of heart.
On Sat. Ty and Kyle had the "Survival of the Fittest" scouting competition. They were so exhausted and did not want to go but they went and did real well. Our 3rd Ward boys took 2nd. A Santaquin team beat them. There were about 20 teams there so they did really well. Later we drove up to the canyon to see if we could see any deer. You know the big hunt is coming up?
Today we were all getting ready for our 1:00 church. Russ was ironing his shirt and Taya asked him if it was church today. Russ said that it was church and without hesitating Taya said, "Am I Scick (sick)?". Russ said, "NO" and she said in a disappointed tone, "Oh". Anyone that has a 3 year old has a "house of learning". She was sick last week so Kyle stayed home with her. How quickly she learned that one. Rylie gave a talk in Primary today and it was so good. We all had tears in our eyes. Good job Rylie!
