It was in Sept. of 2003. My children love their Grandma Carole. Rylie would sit on her bed and my mom would say, "There's my Rylie Buttons, come give grandma a love". Rylie still remembers her calling her Rylie Buttons. One day at the hospital Rylie brought "handprints" (her blanket that she still has) and put it on her Grandma Carole and said, "That will make Grandma feel better". I am sure it did. Rylie and Elle were lucky to have Grandma for a little while. She loved taking them to McDonalds and cooking for them and mostly rocking them on her lap and humming a little tune to them. During the time that my mom was so sick, my little boys were giants. They were so incredible. They showed service to their Grandma like I had never seen before. They did some of those things that you would never expect from a grown man let alone a small boy. But they loved their Grandma and would do and did anything that they could to make her more comfortable. She would tell them to come over and see her before she had to"thump their melons". The boys always got a kick out of Grandma's sense of humor. But who didn't?
This picture make me so thankful that my mom is out of pain and that she is in a better place. It reminds me to be happy for her. I am so grateful for the plan of salvation. I am grateful for the gospel that teaches those thing that we must do to be A FAMILY FOREVER.

Although that picture is so heartbreaking I am so grateful to see it! What a blessing that was to serve her! Even though I didn't get to see her a whole lot those last months the times when I did were so special! What an awesome lady!!! Thank goodness for the Plan of Salvation! And thank you Aunt LeAnnie so much for posting that picture! Love ya tons!
Thanks for that picture too. I remember the day that Mike brought my kids down because she was so sick. Garrett had his hair dyed some stupid orangie blonde color and she said to him,"MaDonna, it's so nice to see you!" We all still laugh at her. It didn't matter how sick she was, she still had a sense of humor that would make you sick from laughing so hard. Love ya
