DAD - Better Days.

Everyone has been asking how my dad is doing, so I thought that I would let you know as much as I know. He has had a rough winter. Because he keeps falling, we have had him in the hospital twice this winter. Once just before Christmas and then again on the 21st of Jan. The combination of his 84 years (you all know that some of those times he was ridden hard and put away wet as we say in the Warnick family) and his failing health (diabetes, congestive heart, high blood pressure, etc.) is taking its toll on him. Today he went in for 2 units of blood and they are having him wear a heart monitor for a little while. Hopefully this will either find out why he is blacking out and falling or it will rule out some possibilities. He has about had every test that they could give him. Next they are doing an MRI on him but the CT- scan didn't show any small strokes or anything but we will do the MRI next week. But again he is 84 years old- not a spring chicken anymore. We (his kids) are now taking turns with staying with him and taking him meals. Even with our efforts to keep him safe and sound he still fell again Monday. This time he was there for an hour or so. Better than his 24 -31 hours that he laid there last time. We didn't take him to the hospital that night because he knows what his options would be if they see him so soon from another fall and he did not want to go. He was sore but nothing broke. Hopefully we can get him on his feet again so that he can be a little more independent again. Maybe when the weather breaks. It is hard watching him get older and more feeble. It is crazy to see him using a walker now. Hopefully he can get feeling better SOON. By the way, I love comments so Warnick's and Walkers please leave me a comment. And anyone else. Oh and Judy will you email your cell # or leave it on the comments - I cleaned up and it got thrown away before I could put it in my phone - thanks. Talk to ya soon.

I'm sorry to hear about your dad. He is lucky to have you to take such good care of him. I haven't talked to you forever. I know you're always busy. I think we are going to try to get together next Sunday for Karson and Danny's birthday so I will call you sometime this week. Good luck with everything, and don't forget to take care of YOU!

Hey LeAnn, I'm sorry to hear about your Dad. It is really hard to see your parents get old. My Dad just found out that he has to start dialysis because his kidneys are only functioning at 12%. My Mom is hanging in there, but she gets tired out pretty easy. She's had the pacemaker and defibrilator for a few years now and they've changed medications alot, but now that's pretty much all they say they can do for her. Anyway, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Love, Cinda
