A Tribute To Dad

I cannot believe that it has been two weeks now since Dad was able to get out of this life. I am so relieved for him and happy that he is where he is. It is such a strange feeling. As we left Rylie's recital last night, Kyle said that it felt like we should be going out to Grandpa's. Every time we say our prayers we have to stop ourselves from blessing "Grandpa that he can feel better". I need to go out and clean out the fridge but the house just isn't the same.

The funeral was wonderful and such a great day. People have asked me how everything went and I just keep telling them that it was such a fun day. And it really was to me. We couldn't have asked for a better day. I am so grateful for all of the family and friends that came and so many came from miles away. We are so blessed to have such great family and friends.

After the services we all got together and went roller skating. I KNOW that Dad was there just a giggling. I am sure he got a kick out of us all having fun, laughing, falling and just enjoying each other. That is what Dad would have wanted. I am sure of it.

I really miss Dad. I miss seeing his car at the Rancher. I miss putting his medicine out for the upcoming week. I miss his phone calls. I miss checking on him. I miss him at the baseball games. I miss him bragging about how wonderful those three boys are at "everything". I miss him telling me that I am going to have my hands full with that little one. I miss calling him to tell him the the Jazz are playing. I miss drinking a coke with him at the coffee shop. I miss buying him "half and half" (I still can't believe that he loved drinking that - yuck!!!). I miss his "thumbs-up". I really miss talking to him about a whole lot of nothing. But most of all, I just miss my DAD.
I am so grateful that FAMILIES CAN BE TOGETHER FOREVER!!!! What a wonderful plan!

I didn't really know him. But he sounded like an amazing dad. He raised an amazing family too. You are truly blessed to have such an example.
