ATime To Reflect and Remember...

I will start out by giving a little background about this blog. 22 years ago I had the opportunity to go to Boston and be a nanny. I was so fortunate to go to a wonderful family who had this cute little baby, Scott. The day I got there Scott was a whole 12 days old. I learned alot during the year that I was there. It was such a growing year for me. I left my little town of Deseret and headed to the Big city of Boston or I should say Newton.
This is me holding Scott. He was about 5 weeks old. I loved this little, colicky guy and we about wore his new stroller out walking around Waban. This is Scott when he was about 6Add Imagemonths old. After his colicky stage, Scott was a happy baby.

This is Scott 22 years later. All grown up and as his mother would say - he is old enough now to make his own mistakes. Ty and Kyle showed Scott a little Guitar Hero. Yale students are too busy studying. They don't have time to play games.

Well, I had a great time this past weekend. Scott and his friend Joe came to Utah and during their travels they made their way to Delta. Scott and Joe stayed with us Saturday night and we had a little barbeque and we had a great visit. We even took them out to Johnson's and Jace showed them some of the farm equipment that they use and we drove around and I showed them "Our Lovely Deseret" and recommended that if they ever hear the song "In Our Lovely Deseret" that they probably should put their hand on the heart. Ya, my boys think that I am crazy every time I say that..
On Sunday we went to church and then went for a drive to show them the power plant. We just didn't have enough time to get everything in that I wanted to get in, SO... that means that they have to come back again.
I so enjoyed seeing Scott again and meeting Joe. It has made me reflect a little and I have once again realized that the people we meet are definitely a part of our lives forever. I do not think that it was just by chance that I went to Boston and met the Nelson family. They will be a part of me forever and their influence on me has helped me be the person that I am.
I remember how homesick I was when I was in Boston for my own family and then when I came home I was homesick again for my family in Boston.

Scott thanks so much for coming to see me and meeting my family. It was such a joy. I believe that relationships last forever and I treasure your friendship as well as our mom and dads. As for Joe, Scotts friend, thanks for being in our home. Please know that you are always welcome. Joe made me reflect again on my religous beliefs. I appreciate the great person that you are. I decided that I would list some of my beliefs on my blog. I think that it is important review and ponder what we stand for often and I probably don't do this often enough.
I only hope that Scott and Joe will have success in whatever they pursue in life. And most of all I can't wait to see them again.
Now I am a little homesick for Boston again. I really need to go back and take my family there so they can see all the sites of that fun city and meet my other family.
